Bio

A lot of people ask how I got into fixing computer problems and whether or not I went to school to learn about it.

I have never taken any formal “How To Remove Spyware 101” classes (do they even exist?) although I have taken several wireless security and networking type classes over at Golden West College.

For the most part, knowing how to fix the kind of computer software problems that I do for a living is pretty much On-The-Job-Training. Each different problem I encounter is a new learning experience so after all this time I’ve developed a kind of problem-solving rhythm to things. I think that’s basically true for all kinds of work — not just the personal computer industry.

Overall I’m a fairly logical person and I think that’s the main strength for solving computer issues.

My educational background is about as logical as you can get: I have a B.S. degree from the University of Hawaii with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics. I also have an MBA from our good old neighborhood UC Irvine.

Most of the jobs I had before starting Click Computer Services really prepared me the computer work I do now.

I started out as a computer programmer and after that worked for many years in a technical operations department doing tons of software debugging and other problem solving projects. I also did process improvement work which is still fixing broken stuff — except instead of fixing software it’s fixing business processes.

Overall I really enjoy my work. The satisfaction of solving these computer puzzles each day are like little triumphs for me.

Hey, I’m easily amused. 🙂
